Blonde Woman Yelled at Her Grandmother, Leaving Her Confused—Just a Minute Later, a Distinguished Gentleman in a Suit Stepped Out of the Building

Once upon a time, Margaret was a maths teacher. This morning, I woke up feeling particularly cheerful because my dear friend Alice was celebrating her birthday, and Id decided to surprise her. Wed worked together at the same school for nearly forty years, and over the years wed become inseparable, like two peas in a pod. Margaret carefully ironed her favourite blouse and skirt as she wanted to look smart for this special day. After getting dressed, she left her house.

It had rained recently, so puddles were scattered everywhere along the pavement. Margaret strolled to the local shop, picking up a birthday cake and a bouquet of flowers. Just as she stepped out, a sleek car, driven by a stylish blonde woman, sped past her. From its wheels surged a wave, as dramatic as the tide at Brighton. The water splashed all over poor Margarether skirt, the flowers, and even the cake were soaked with dirty water.

The blonde paused, lowering her window, and said, Sorry, but at this hour, all grandmothers should be at home, not risking getting splashed! I had important errands to run. You really ought to be ashamed! Margaret replied, Ashamed of what exactly? The blonde retorted, You didnt pay attention to where you were walkingyou walked right next to the puddle, so its your own fault.

While the two were exchanging words, a dignified gentleman in a suit emerged from the nearby building. The blonde instantly put on a bright smile. Whats going on here? he inquired.

Mr. Smith, this lady leaned against my dirty car, and now shes blaming me for it, the blonde claimed hastily.

Smithis that you? asked the retired maths teacher.

It turned out that the gentleman, Mr. Smith, was once Margarets pupil. Suddenly, it became clearthe blonde, who was Mr. Smiths secretary at his firm, was lying and clearly lacked respect for elders.

Mr. Smiths face hardened. Apologise immediately to my favourite teacher, he commanded sternly.

But someone else splashed herI only stopped to help! the young woman improvised desperately.

Mr. Smith shook his head. Youre fired. I have no use for such an employee.

He escorted Margaret home, made sure she got changed, and bought fresh flowers and an even grander cake. The two of them headed off together to celebrate Alices birthday, who, funnily enough, had also taught Mr. Smith years ago.

Today taught me that kindness and honesty are invaluable, and respecting those who came before us is a mark of true character.
