By the Seaside, a Mysterious Stranger with a Birthmark Beneath His Left Ear Approached Me—Suddenly, …

By the seaside in Brighton, a rather peculiar chap approached me, and I couldnt help but notice a little mole just beneath his left ear. Suddenly, my uncles words echoed in my head: Youll meet your soulmate looking out over the sea.

When Id said my goodbyes to my brother at Kings Cross Station, my mum had become quite emotional, fearing that, given her age, it might be the last time she would see him in this lifetime. Wanting to see my brother and sister perhaps this one last time, I set off. First, I visited my uncle, and then we planned to go and see my aunt. My uncle teased me about my upcoming wedding happening in six months, and I jokingly invited him. He warned me to be careful, mentioning he had a birthmark The weather was absolutely lovely.

When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Aunt Alice and her husband. The next morning, my younger cousin, Emily, and I decided to enjoy a bit of time by the sea. After a refreshing swim, we headed back home for lunch. Emily, feeling a touch tired and wanting to put her feet up, suddenly changed her mindshe persuaded me to head back to the shore with her and then to the cinema afterwards. As we were coming out of the water, two young men approached us and asked for directions to a certain road. Emily gave them helpful instructions, and then the second chap looked me over rather intently before asking, Excuse me, is your name Olivia?

Raised an eyebrow in surprise, and he quickly explained, You live in London, and you have a friend named Sophie. Shes my sister. Ive seen you in her photos, and I was curious to know more about you. Thats when I noticed the birthmark on his arm. We all decided to go to the cinema together and then wandered along the promenade for a while. As we were saying goodbye, the young man told us that he and his mate were finishing up a business trip and returning home the following day. He asked if he could ring me sometime and if Id give him my numberwhich I did.

Ten days later, he met me and my mother again at Heathrow. Six months from then, we were married.
