I threw my wife out of the house and shielded my daughter from her after learning where she was taking the girl.
I’ve been with my wife for six years. She has an eightyearold daughter who was only two when we met. The child’s father disappeared a few months before she was born, yet he suddenly showed up at our door in December while I was at work. When the girl first saw her dad, he showed little interest in her.
Two weeks later my wife told me they had decided to share custody of the child. She refused to tell me where the man lived or even give me his phone number.
My wife always drives the daughter to and from school and extracurricular activities.
In early January I noticed the daughter began expressing dread about going to her dads place. She said he was scary, dirty, and she couldnt sleep there. She told me, in front of her mother, that she didnt want to go anymore. Then, on the last Friday
My wife left work at 8p.m. and was supposed to pick up the daughter shortly after. It was 9p.m. and neither of them were home; my wife wasnt answering her phone. I called her sisters and her mother, but no one knew her whereabouts. I even went to her workplace, where nobody was there either.
Just after 2a.m. the wife and daughter finally walked in. I was up, furious. My wife said, Im sorry, with an innocent look. She gave this explanation:
Her work phone died, so she drove by her expartners house, only to find it empty. Unable to call him, she waited. He arrived a little after 9p.m. with food, saying theyd walked to a shop and bought takeout on the way back. My wife let them finish the meal, then claimed she fell asleep on the couch, woke at 1:45a.m., and rushed home, saying she was exhausted after a hard day.
She then handed me the mans address and asked me to take the daughter there the next day. When we got there, it turned out to be a rundown shack by the road in a poor district, full of cockroaches and empty beer bottles. The man was sitting on a couch in his underwear, staring blankly. I took the girl back home.
That evening I learned my wife had been giving him money and topping up his phone from our family budget. Have they become a couple? Either way Im fed up with the deception and suspect theyre probably sleeping together.
Yesterday night I told her to leave and demanded she leave the child at homethe only place where shes safe. I wont send my daughter to that backwater! My motherinlaw fully supports her staying with me; legally Im listed as the childs guardian.
I see no other option. Ill watch how things unfold from here.
